The priest always kind and helpful she recommends this document line by line tight little more than 10 cm long and forty.
From this reading we present a piece of news, colors, the first baptism took place in the Church of Villarosa, in the month of May. This is a child, Rosa, whose name can be seen from photos shown here. This record, written in Latin, reveals other information, the name of the priest and of course parents and godparents.

We can not say who was the first of its kind in the country, the rest of the existing church of San Giacomo di Bombinetto was active before the new country, but the survey, carried out two years ago, the records of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, we will not provide prior information. first sulfur, the new book by Franco

The book presents for the first time the origins and early development of the history of the new city of Villarosa (1731-1825), Sicilian town of the interior of the island, who was born and developed in the context of reality half of Sicily between 700 and 800 first determining a specific socio-political situation across the Bourbon era of the French Revolution, the age of monarchy, and administrative reforms institutions.
Luigi Di Franco identifies as the original character of this reality, the power barons, religious and devotional practices of civilization, that in the second 700 are the basis of local collective identity and develop a dynamic of feudalism and the emancipation of moral freedom from the material, to be followed in the early decades of the nineteenth century the rise of the bourgeois elite and promotion of all aspects of civic life. The historical essay is divided into three parts. The first 'historic environment' fits the area and analyzes the three convergent action, in building and populating the new city of Villarosa, the noble house of Notarbartolo, and the hierarchy of immigrant families. The second 'popular religious power and identity', using anthropological interpretation to define the identity of the people, identify the processes of social growth and describes the failure of the plot and the emergence of a new feudal state in need of local communities. The third 'from feudal to bourgeois protagonists' outlines the affirmation of bourgeois protagonists involved in the local society to shape its development between economy and politics in the early nineteenth century.
The book presents a case history example of analysis of the mechanisms that transform a temporary reality and fragmented not only in a supportive and stable community but in a new town, where the various microcosm of life express the transition to the new regime dall'ancien leading role of the middle class typical of the early nineteenth century. A socio-political territory is never neutral place, so that the economic processes that the various aspects of socio-anthropological make possible the representation of the history of a society. The volume of historiographical narrative symbolically through the spaces, signs and memories of a community in place between the lights of baronial power and the bourgeois protagonist affirms the centrality of the economic and social history in the ongoing restructure of each community civil.

Villarosa

The official date given in several papers is that of 1761. Date on which the King of Bourbon, granted to the Duke Notarbartolo licentia populandi , which effectively allowed the growth and the existing farmhouse, aimed at rehabilitation of the agriculture of that area. One area that, before the disastrous earthquake of 1693 was sparsely populated. It is conceivable, however, that the origins of that House, which was built on the existing Town Hall, not due to earlier settlements in both medieval and archaic.
Recent archaeological excavations have revealed traces of settlements dating back to Greek, and other studies also found sites of prehistoric times.
You can briefly say that the 1761 is a date in the history of periodizzante Villarosa in its most modern, but not the year of origin of the urban settlement. The formal will, however, in early 1762: Professor describes as well. L. Di Franco, in the first sulfur 1731-1825 Villarosa, editor Bonanno 2009, p.56, Placido Notarbartolo will get licentia populandi April 10 of 1762 attoche Di Franco cites among the documents found at the store State of Palermo.

The 1761 is the year from adventure as part of an agricultural colony, and from which then winds past the epic of sulfur.
We can conclude that Villarosa had certainly different denominations, and if we include the territory of Villapriolo, including several sites of settlement, we can summarize the various names by which this portion of the enclosed between Sicily and the Salty Morello became known in time
Gasba Feud, Fief of Priolo
Bumbunetto
S. Jacques Bombinetto,
Villarosa and Villapriolo
